Trekking to the Himalayas is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Most of us would be dreaming of scaling it though we don’t know the possibility. We also know why. The beauty of the majestic Himalayan ranges is epic and that’s just out there for us to look and go awe. You could discover how much you love nature and in one way, you could self-realize about yourself. Where do you begin with? A beginner could not scale Mt. Everest for a matter of fact! But thanks to the Himalayan ranges, you have several peaks and snow-capped mountains to give you the first-hand outstanding experience with stunning views and frozen lakes. Out of which, I would like to take you on a trek is Sar Pass Trek.

The word ‘Sar’ translates into ‘Lake’ according to the language of the locals. The trek also has a frozen lake on which you can walk! Walking on a lake is not impossible anymore! Considered to be one of the most famous treks in India, the Sar Pass trek is a paradise of scenic of the majestic Himalayan peaks. Originating from the village of Kasol, otherwise called ‘backpackers’ paradise, the trail will take you through a dense forest of pine and rhododendrons, fresh meadows, and countryside hamlets. The trek is ideal for even fit beginners in trekking but Sar Pass Trek is not relatively easy too. Sar Pass is a mountain range and not an actual mountain pass. But trust me when I say this, that doesn’t make it any less of an adventurous trekking experience!

Huddled at 13,700 ft. above sea level in the Parvati Valley of Kullu district, Himachal, this is the perfect place to see the roaring Parvati river. It just doesn’t stop there! It feasts your eyes with a panoramic portrait of snow-covered peaks and cloudy mountain valleys. You are assured of some exciting camping experiences in sites like Min Thach, Biskeri Thach, and Nagaru and each camp has it’s speciality in terms of surroundings. But ice is constant everywhere! The entire trek is promisingly mesmerizing and a handful of rippling streams results in a haunting lullaby. You, Trekkers, can dip your feet in the icy waters of the Parvati river to check if it freezes!
