Formatting and Submission of an Article to a Journal



You have been pretty busy doing your research and now hassling with formatting style of Scientific Journal Publishers. You need not worry about formatting pattern as Advanced Research Publications’ Journals do not require a submission in any consistent text and citation. So, you can focus on your target: your research and we will take care of formatting.

How to Choose a Journal

If you have no time to check all the Journal policies, you may contact us through the phone numbers or e-mail ids given on our website. The Editors may suggest a suitable Journal for submission of the article by looking at the abstract and the title of article.

You should take suggestions from your guide/ peers/ colleagues and check the Journals available in your library and various publisher websites. Most of our Journals accept general submissions throughout the year; but, sometimes the Journal may seek submission on a specific area when it is working on a special issue on a particular subject.

Check articles already published. Also, check focus and scope and policies online. Checking whether the Journal is open access (online access is free after publication) and whether there is an article processing charge beforehand is suggested. You can find all the information on the Journal website, usually on author guideline page.  

If your citation style is consistent and your paper includes all necessary details as given in the Instruction for Authors page for the Journal website, that’s enough to submit your article.

First, have a close look at the focus and scope section of a Journal and decide the title you would like your article to be published in.  Check instruction for authors. If your article has Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Discussion and Conclusion, and References are cited consistently, it is ready for submission.

The Points the Peer Reviewers Usually Check

An article is peer reviewed on the basis of Abstract, Figures/ Tables, Funding information, References, conflict of interest. An original research article for consideration in a peer reviewed and open access medical Journal should also include research design and tool, ethical approval, patient consent, and duration of study.  Editors may usually check whether:

  • The article is relevant to the Journals’ focus and scope.
  • Discussion and conclusions are justified by the results of the study.
  • If the article has tables, figures, or appendices, they are useful.
  • The article has new ideas or useful synthesis of existing material.

Using consistent citations

The references should be consistent. Each reference should include:

  • Author name(s)
  • Article or chapter title
  • Journal or book title
  • Year of publication
  • Volume and issue (where appropriate)
  • Page numbers
  • Website URL and accessed date (where appropriate)

Though not essential, we suggest inclusion of Pubmed ID or DOI in references.

Completing your submission

You should submit your article as a single-column word file with all figures and tables. After you have submitted the article, it will be reviewed by the Editorial Board, who may ask you to add certain points. When you revise your article as per the suggestions by the Editors, it may be accepted for publication.

 Last but not the least, Journals consider only the manuscripts which are not published nor are under consideration for publication elsewhere.
